To: the Leader of the House of Commons, the Business Secretary, the Housing' Local Government and Communities Secretary, the Chair of Ombudsman Services and the CEO and Chief Ombudsman of Ombudsman Services:
Ombudsman Services Part 4: The Full English Cover-Up Attempt 36:
36) Today is the 100th day of the Year and to mark it there has been 100% silence on Ombudsman Services' performance for 2017.
Dear Mrs Leadsom, Mr Clark, Mr Javid, Lord Tim Clement Jones and the Rev Shand Smith,
The Ombudsman Association (formerly the British and Irish Ombudsman Association) have a rule which is: members must publish an annual report detailing their performance in handling consumers' complaints.
This is in order to meet their requirement for members' scheme to be: accountable and transparent.
Q. Lord Tim Clement Jones and The Rev Shand Smith, why have you failed to publish a report for the whole of 2017?
A spokesperson for the Ombudsman Services ADR scheme told Property Industry Eye;
"OS will come back into the housing market as quickly as we can - once we feel that action is being taken to make the system of redress less confusing and more transparent."
Q. Lord Tim Clement Jones and The Rev Shand Smith, isn't your failure to publish an annual report adding to that confusion and where on earth id the transparency?
As long ago as 2011, Trevor Buck, Richard Kirkham and Brian Thompson in Ch. 6 of The Ombudsman Enterprise and Administrative Justice - Accountability - were saying that ombudsmen;
"were an unelected institution employed to provide assurance to
Parliament and the wider population as to the efficacy of Government
- the interaction of these different bodies is important if the most
effective form of accountability is to be achieved."
Q. Mrs Leadsom, Mr Clark and Mr Javid, since the departure of DJS Research in 2011 from Ombudsman Services, hasn't there been a cover-up of what was actually going on at this private redress scheme?
Q. Mrs Ledsom, Mr Clark and Mr Javid, what have the Government monitors of this Government approved and monitored scheme actually been monitoring?
Q. Mrs Leadsom, Mr Clark and Mr Javid, what did the Government's monitors have to say about this company's performance in 2017?
The authors conclude;
"The ombudsman is an institution endowed with remarkable power
that itself needs to be called to account. Not only can an Ombudsman
fail due to error or incompetency, but an Ombudsman an fail through
timidity."
Q. Mrs Leadsom, Mr Clark and Mr Javid, this organisation actually blamed uppity consumers for having the cheek to complain about the way in which their complaints were being mishandled by those offering them a, "broken solution." Are these people like the Foreign Secretary - unsackable?
And can't Ombudsmen also fail because they're corrupt?
Yours sincerely,
Steve Gilbert - Workstock Number - 510458.
