Dear Reader,Thank you for taking the time to read about our campaign. We sent the following email to the Leader of the House of Commons askingfor a public inquiry into the RICS and its appointed company OmbudsmanServices:Property. The executives simply can't be allowed to walk awayfrom their responsibilities unchallenged. As much as they might want to andwish to.To the Leader of the House of Commons:Ombudsman Services Case 510458 - Part 3: Issue 1 - Asking Questions Attempt 17.
17) Ombudsman Services:Property - And The Urgent Need For A Public Inquiry.
Dear Mrs Leadsom,The Rev Shand Smith talks about a, "broken solution to a broken market" and yet only a short while ago he was only too happy to trumpet to consumers that he had developed a superb model of redress!Q. Mrs Leadsom, just exactly HOW did The Rev Shand Smith's super model of redress become so hopelessly broken?Consumers, most especially those like Julia, who got their eyewateringly ludicrous decision from The Rev Shand Smith's Property Ombudsman need to know just exactly how and why the wheels fell off his once superb model. The Rev Shand Smith's explanation appears to be that,"Redress in the housing sector is a really confusing picture for all involved. The patchwork of alternative dispute resolution and ombudsman schemes is a mystery for consumers and therefore incredibly difficult for them to navigate."Q. Mrs Leadsom, does that really explain why The Rev Shand Smith's Lead Ombudsman, Gillian Fleming, was so confused that she, "arrived at decisions in an illogical manner" time after time after time?Mrs Leadsom, the government civil servants monitoring this scheme on behalf of the consumer were given this data and yet did nothing to protect them.
Q. Mrs Leadsom, was it also a mystery for them and did they get confused and lost attempting to navigate the patchwork of schemes, when in fact they only had one to monitor? This is of course nonsense .There must have been collusion and a cover-up.It is far too easy for farcical ombudsmen to blame, "broken markets," and then pack up their bottles of snake oil, fake remedies and exit stage left. The Rev Shand Smith has in effect blamed everyone except himself for the carnage of wrecked private justice that consumers are left to scramble out of on their respective customer journeys to nowhere through a landscape of rigged redress.
Q. Mrs Leadsom, isn't it time The Rev Shand Smith apologised to consumers like Julia whose case - like hundreds of others - was a car crash waiting to happen?
Q. Mrs Leadsom, perhaps if The Rev Shand Smith was actually asked to answer our 100 questions he might begin to understand why, "arriving at decisions in an illogical manner" is part of his broken solution?
The expression, "unfit for purpose" is we believe, unfit for purpose as is the term, "broken market."
The consumer needs protection from these dodgy markets and needs to know why they are so fragile and susceptible to breakage each time they attempt to use them.Q. Mrs Leadsom, Lord Tim Clement Jones, seemed completely unaware that the solutions his company was offering were broken when he attacked consumers for having the temerity to complain that his best efforts weren't good enough. Shouldn't he now resign along with his CEO, The Rev Shand Smith? It is totally unacceptable for The Rev Shand Smith and Lord Tim Clement Jones to expect to stomp off their level playing field and take their game elsewhere unchallenged. There needs to be a public inquiry into their broken solutions so that people like Julia can have their story aired in public. She said,"We chuckle when we read the reply from our surveyor to our complaint - please refer to the Surveyors Ombudsman!! That was a no risk strategy for them!It has been eyewateringly ludicrous! We have suffered financial loss and severe health issues.I really do want to tell my story if for nothing more than to help other people."
What a remarkable person to have gone through her experience at the hands of farcical ombudsmen and still have the decency and humanity to want to help other people.
She should have been an ombudsman.
This is the effect of unregulated, unmonitored and non-transparent rigged redress. It is an insult to the democratic process.A public inquiry is urgently needed. It would help the victims of this company's, "broken solutions" and countless other people too.The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign is calling for:1) A Publis Inquiry into the RICS and its, "appointed" company - Ombudsman Services:Property.2) Answers from ; The Rev Shand Smith CEO and Chief Ombudsman Ombudsman Services, Gillian Fleming Former Property Ombudsman Ombudsman Services:Property, Dame Janet Finch Former Chair Ombudsman Services, the Ombudsman Services Independent Assor Roger Jeffries, Steven Gould RICS Former Board Member, Wlater Merricks Former Board Member, Nick Clegg, Vince Cable, Jo Swinson, Sajid Javid, Jonathan May Former Executive Director OFT, the Government monitors of this Government approved scheme and Lord Tim Clement Jones Chair Ombudsman Services.3) Compensation for the victims of the Ombudsman's illogical Final Decisions and the executives' maladministration.4) The setting up of publicly run truly "fair" and "independent" redress scheme free from RICS malign influence and farcical ombudsmen and their farcical broken solutions.
