Ombudsman Services Pt 4: The Full English Cover-Up (81) Do Not Be Taken In By His Cheesy Cheshire-Cat Grin.

Ombudsman Services Pt 4: The Full English Cover-Up (81) Don't Be Taken In By His Cheesy Cheshire-Cat Grin.
Dear Reader,
As the disaster of rigged private redress (ADR) unfolded the former Labour Shadow Business Secretary was nowhere to be seen even though we sent him hundreds of emails in a desperate attempt to warn him of the unfolding, "fiasco."
But then why be surprised? Mr Umunna has always been on the "side of those doing well."
Helping him to do well were PwC.
In The Independent the former Independence Party MP speaks of progressive, liberal, radical centre ground politics but never explains why it was he didn't just pass GO and head straight to the i-Liberal (Un)Democratic Party instead of joining Labour? He would have avoided the illiberal necessity of having to climb into the pocket of PwC and trouser the equivalent of £90K a year because, apparently, true liberals wouldn't dream of doing such a demeaning thing
PwC never offered us that amount to run our "office." But then we're not on the side of those doing well.
He talks of a "shambles" and the failings of a two party, "establishment" but strangely never mentions the shambles of a property ombudsman left free to arrive at "decisions in an illogical manner" (DJS Research) or the prominent part he played in that two party system and his decision not to speak out and not to intervene to help protect those who were not on the side of those doing well. People who subsequently did considerably badly thanks to those illogical Final Decisions of the Ombudsman Services:Property ombudsman and the Full English Cover-Up that allowed this to happen year after year.
As a brand new i-liberal (Un)Democrat MP he can now of course ask the Chair of Ombudsman Services, the i-Liberal (Un)Democrat peer Lord Tim Clement Jones, why he was so completely out of touch with reality when stating in his first Foreword for Ombudsman Services that some complainants were never satisfied with his firm's best efforts - this when Martin Lewis' report for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Consumer Protection showed that nearly 90% of property complainants thought his best efforts were "disappointing." That would be really radical. And very progressive.
"Disappointing" translates as Bollocks - a word favoured by his new colleague Sir Vince Cable.
He could try asking Sir Vince'll Fix-It Cable why as Business Secretary in the coalition government he "fixed" the lettings market for The RICS but not the surveyors' one for their clients. But then as Shadow Business Secretary he would have known all of this - because we told him.
Or why Sir Vince made a Total Bollocks of the privatisation of the Post Office which saw scores of sub-postmasters ruined by the new management's illogical decision making. Another particularly vicious example of rigged market capitalism that bullies and exploits those who are on the side that isn't doing very well.
What will be truly progressive, liberal and radical is when these toadying, "yes-men" are voted out of office and replaced by passionate individuals who are not afraid to take on and beat the vested interests who have - until now - these ungrounded and self-centred careerists tucked neatly in their pockets.
The centre-ground myth is being perpetuated by politicians like Chuka Umunna who have already given the game away - they've chosen their side: the one that's doing well - bollocks to everyone else.
Do not be taken in by his cheesy Cheshire-cat grin.
The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign is seeking:
1. Answers from: Monk and Partners, Lewis Shand Smith, Gillian Fleming, Dame Janet Finch, Jonathan May, Sir Vince Cable, Jo Swinson, Chukka Umunna, the oddly named Independent Assessor, Sajid Javid, the government monitors of this government approved ADR scheme, Dame Julie Mellor, Greg Clark, Yvonne Fovargue, Dame Helena Kennedy, Martin Lewis....
2. A public inquiry into Ombudsman Services:Property (a company formerly trading as the Surveyors Ombudsman Service - SOS - until undergoing rebranding) and the role of the RICS.
3. Compensation for the victims of the property ombudsman's illogical Final Decisions and the executives' maladministration.
4. The setting up of a truly fair independent transparent and accountable state-run ADR scheme.
Yours sincerely,
Steve Gilbert - The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign.
