Ombudsman Services Pt 4: The Full English Cover-Up (83) "Engaged"" And "Politically Influenced" Civil Servants Shred The Myth Of A Neutral British Civil Service.

Ombudsman Services Pt 4: The Full English Cover-Up (83) "Engaged" And "Politically Influenced" Civil Servants Shred The Myth Of A Neutral British Civil Service
Dear Reader,
There must be a General Election in the offing as it's now the turn of our supposedly neutral civil service to put the boot in on Jeremy Corbyn.
Michael Foot had it easy in comparison but then times have changed.
The old hatreds are stronger. The new ones are equally as vicious. The tropes have been marshalled (marshaled for our readers in the USA)  and passed fit for action along with their supporting vile slurs. Strange how slurs are always vile but stranger still is the decision of our taxpayer-funded civil service to join the fray.

Taxpayer-funded charities such as the CAA and CST paved the way with Left-hate-filled blogs (see Mark Gardner's) and a petition stating that "Jeremy Corbyn is an antisemite and unfit to hold any public office" (Why is the taxpayer funding this?) and clearly the civil service felt the need to join in.
None of these people are elected and thanks to the generosity of the taxpayer none of them have felt the need to tighten their belts because of the Tory and Coalition Government's policy of austerity. That and the need to be held to be held accountable has seemingly passed them by. And this is still called a democracy.
The civil service have prior form.
The RICS once proudly announced how they'd "engaged" and "politically influenced" senior civil servants viz The Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill. In "RICS Member Briefing - Lobbying Vince Cable To Fix The Letting Industry" they wrote;
"RICS has long campaigned for reform of the letting agent sector - achieving better regulation of the sector and eliminating the "cowboys" will ultimately deliver more and repeat business for our members and a better deal for consumers."
Really? How about regulating your "cowboy" surveyors? Something Vince - sadly - wasn't interested in.
RICS continued;
"Over the past 18 months, RICS has undertaken a great deal of influencing work - both publicly and behind the scenes to drive home the need for change to govt and policy makers. This work has included events in Parliament, briefing of MPs, Ministers and Civil Servants."
When we later asked RICS' "politically influenced," "engaged" and "briefed" civil servants what on earth it was they were "monitoring" when the RICS' "appointed" company Ombudsman Services:Property failed for two years to produce an annual report be didn't get a reply. And this is supposed to be a democracy.
Martin Lewis in his whitewash report for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Consumer Protection stumbled across a consumer disapproval rate of nearly 90% for Ombudsman Services:Property but didn't think it worth commenting on. We did.
He didn't answer our questions. Yvonne Forvague, Chair of Committee, didn't answer our questions either. And this is supposed to be a democracy.
We've been trying to drive home the need for 21st century standards of transparency and accountability and the need to round up all those cowboys. No success so far.
The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign is seeking:
1. A public inquiry into Ombudsman Services:Property and the role of The RICS.
2. Compensation for the ombudsman's illogical Final Decisions and the executives' maladministration.
3. The setting up of a state-run, fair, independent, transparent and accountable ADR scheme.
Yours sincerely,
Steve Gilbert - The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign.

Ombudsman Services Pt 4: The Full English Cover-Up (82) British Justice? What A Good Idea!

Ombudsman Services Pt 4: The Full English Cover-Up (82) British Justice? What A Good Idea!
Dear Reader,
Far too many British citizens have to wait far too long for their ration of British justice and far too many simply never get it.
We need to start erecting columns in Trafalgar Square with the names of all those gallant individuals who fell fighting the British Justice System so that their struggles and battles will not have been in vain.
Victims like Richard Stewart from the Windrush Generation to those victims of The Contaminated Blood Scandal, Orgreave, and Hillsborough.
To the sick, the elderly and the dying and their families who were given decisions "beyond all known logic" by Anonymous Desk Top Reviewers at NHS Livewell South West to those who were promised a, "fair" and "independent" investigation of their complaint by Ombudsman Services - a private non-transparent and non-accountable ADR scheme - and got anything but.
There'll be a lot of columns and they'll all be very tall.
The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign is seeking:
1. Answers from; Lewis Shand Smith, Monk and Partners, Gillian Fleming, Dame Janet Finch, Sir Vince'll Fix-It Cable, Jo Swinson, the ludicrously named Independent Assessor, Jonathan May, Sajid Javid, the government monitors of this government approved scheme, Steven Gould and RICS the so-called regulator, Chuka Umunna, our surveyor, Dame Julie Mellor, Lord Tim Clement Jones, Martin Lewis, Yvonne Fovargue, The All Party Parliamentary Group on Consumer Protection, The Ombudsman Association, Dame Helena Kennedy, The EU Justice Sub-Committee...
2. A public inquiry into Ombudsman Services:Property (a company formerly trading as the Surveyors Ombudsman Scheme until being rebranded) and the role of the RICS.
3. Compensation for the victims of the OS:Property ombudsman's illogical Final Decisions and the executives' maladministration.
4. The setting up of a truly fair and independent state-run transparent and accountable ADR scheme.
Yours sincerely,
Steve Gilbert - The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign.

Ombudsman Services Pt 4: The Full English Cover-Up (81) Do Not Be Taken In By His Cheesy Cheshire-Cat Grin.

Ombudsman Services Pt 4: The Full English Cover-Up (81) Don't Be Taken In By His Cheesy Cheshire-Cat Grin.
Dear Reader,
As the disaster of rigged private redress (ADR) unfolded the former Labour Shadow Business Secretary was nowhere to be seen even though we sent him hundreds of emails in a desperate attempt to warn him of the unfolding, "fiasco."
But then why be surprised? Mr Umunna has always been on the "side of those doing well."
Helping him to do well were PwC.
In The Independent the former Independence Party MP speaks of progressive, liberal, radical centre ground politics but never explains why it was he didn't just pass GO and head straight to the i-Liberal (Un)Democratic Party instead of joining Labour? He would have avoided the illiberal necessity of having to climb into the pocket of PwC and trouser the equivalent of £90K a year because, apparently, true liberals wouldn't dream of doing such a demeaning thing
PwC never offered us that amount to run our "office." But then we're not on the side of those doing well.
He talks of a "shambles" and the failings of a two party, "establishment" but strangely never mentions the shambles of a property ombudsman left free to arrive at "decisions in an illogical manner" (DJS Research) or the prominent part he played in that two party system and his decision not to speak out and not to intervene to help protect those who were not on the side of those doing well. People who subsequently did considerably badly thanks to those illogical Final Decisions of the Ombudsman Services:Property ombudsman and the Full English Cover-Up that allowed this to happen year after year.
As a brand new i-liberal (Un)Democrat MP he can now of course ask the Chair of Ombudsman Services, the i-Liberal (Un)Democrat peer Lord Tim Clement Jones, why he was so completely out of touch with reality when stating in his first Foreword for Ombudsman Services that some complainants were never satisfied with his firm's best efforts - this when Martin Lewis' report for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Consumer Protection showed that nearly 90% of property complainants thought his best efforts were "disappointing." That would be really radical. And very progressive.
"Disappointing" translates as Bollocks - a word favoured by his new colleague Sir Vince Cable.
He could try asking Sir Vince'll Fix-It Cable why as Business Secretary in the coalition government he "fixed" the lettings market for The RICS but not the surveyors' one for their clients. But then as Shadow Business Secretary he would have known all of this - because we told him.
Or why Sir Vince made a Total Bollocks of the privatisation of the Post Office which saw scores of sub-postmasters ruined by the new management's illogical decision making. Another particularly vicious example of rigged market capitalism that bullies and exploits those who are on the side that isn't doing very well.
What will be truly progressive, liberal and radical is when these toadying, "yes-men" are voted out of office and replaced by passionate individuals who are not afraid to take on and beat the vested interests who have - until now - these ungrounded and self-centred careerists tucked neatly in their pockets.
The centre-ground myth is being perpetuated by politicians like Chuka Umunna who have already given the game away - they've chosen their side: the one that's doing well - bollocks to everyone else.
Do not be taken in by his cheesy Cheshire-cat grin.
The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign is seeking:
1. Answers from: Monk and Partners, Lewis Shand Smith, Gillian Fleming, Dame Janet Finch, Jonathan May, Sir Vince Cable, Jo Swinson, Chukka Umunna, the oddly named Independent Assessor, Sajid Javid, the government monitors of this government approved ADR scheme, Dame Julie Mellor, Greg Clark, Yvonne Fovargue, Dame Helena Kennedy, Martin Lewis....
2. A public inquiry into Ombudsman Services:Property (a company formerly trading as the Surveyors Ombudsman Service - SOS - until undergoing rebranding) and the role of the RICS.
3. Compensation for the victims of the property ombudsman's illogical Final Decisions and the executives' maladministration.
4. The setting up of a truly fair independent transparent and accountable state-run ADR scheme.
Yours sincerely,
Steve Gilbert - The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign.

Ombudsman Services Pt 4: The Full English Cover-Up (81) A Midsummer's Nightmare.

Ombudsman Services Pt 4: The Full English Cover-Up (81) A Midsummer's Nightmare.
Dear Reader,
The Telegraph seemed slightly taken aback by the failure of The City watchdog to actually watch - but we can assure Telegraph staff that this is how Rigged Market Capitalism (RMC) works - regulators don't regulate and transparency and accountability are to all intents and purposes, nonexistent.
Lecture 2 will be on The RICS and its "appointed" company - Ombudsman Services:Property. Its Memorandum of Understanding with its "independent" ombudsman and how it closely monitored the latter for just how "effectively disputes were resolved."
Very effectively if you happened to be a RICS surveyor - a total nightmare if you happened to be a RICS client whose customer journey saw them ending up at their RICS surveyor's appointed but "totally independent" ombudsman. And where clients' "dissatisfaction" rates went from 61% (DJS Research Customer Satisfaction Reports) to nearly 90% (Martin Lewis Sharper Teeth: The Consumer Need For Ombudsman Reform).
The RICS saw these appalling figures as being, "effective."
The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign is seeking:
1. Answers from Lewis Shand Smith, Dame Janet Finch, Gillian Fleming, Vince Cable, Jo Swinson, Jonathan May, Sajid Javid, the improbably named Independent Assessor, Dame Julie Mellor, Greg Clark, the government monitors of this government approved scheme, Lord Tim Clement Jones, the Secretary of the Ombudsman Association, Chuka Ummuna, Yvonne Fovargue, The All Party Parliamentary Group on Consumer Protection, Dame Helena Kennedy, The EU Justice Sub-Committee.....
2. A public inquiry into Ombudsman Services:Property (acompany formerly trading as te Surveyors Ombudsman Service until being rebranded) and the role of The RICS.
3. Compensation for the ictims of the ombudsman's illogical Final Decisions and the executives' maladministration.
4. The setting up of a state-controlled, fair, independent, transparent and accountable ADR scheme.
Yours sincerely,
Steve Gilbert - The Ombudsmans61percent Campaign
