For Clarity - Attempt 640.
640. The Chief Ombudsman Who Mistook A Fifty Quid "Award" For Civil Justice.
Dear Mr Clark and Lord Tim Clement Jones,
Ombudsman Services:Property is a place where illogical decisions get mistaken for, "civil justice" and ombudspeak redefines reality.
We're told,
"We are not on the side of either company or the customer."
Surely, this isn't true - it's not fee-paying customers who pay for the service or expect, "real value to be added to their businesses." However, they do expect a, "fair" and "independent" investigation of their complaint although the consensus of opinion is that this isn't happening. (DJS Research: Customer Satisfaction Reports for Ombudsman Services )
It wasn't customers who complained that awards were too high and got Gillian Fleming - Ombudsman - to, "lower them significantly." This action was taken even though DJS Research had repeatedly reported widespread customer dissatisfaction with derisory so-called, "financial-awards" bestowed on some of them by an ombudsman who appeared to be very much on the side of the fee-paying companies who paid for her salary and the service she was providing for them.
Question 12 to the Chair, Prof Janet Finch: How the above statement be true - 'We are not on the side of either company or the consumer' when two RICS Members sit on the Board?
Prof. Dame Janet Finch didn't reply.
Q. Lord Tim Clement Jones, wasn't this an obvious conflict of interest and shouldn't all illogical Final Decisions made by the OS:Property Ombudsman now be independently reviewed by a judge?
Ombudsman Services:Property really does add value to its Members' business practices - its Ombudsman's so-called, "financial awards" have plummeted from £1.511.75p in 2009 to 50 quid in 2016.
Q. Mr Clark, if this private redress scheme really is not on the side of either company or the consumer, why are its, "financial awards" to a handful of property complainants so pitifully low?
Yours sincerely,
Steve Gilbert - Workstock number - 510458.
